David Sassoon Opens The Blewcoat

Tonight (26th June) saw the official launch of the new Ian Stuart Blewcoat boutique in Victoria, London.

The evening wear and bridal wear store was officially opened by celebrated fashion designer David Sassoon. Ian Stuart trained with David Sassoon at the start of his career and as David Sassoon retires from the fashion world, it seemed fitting that he should be the one to open Ian Stuart’s first flagship store.

Models wearing Ian Stuart’s famously glamorous gowns stood on podiums around the historic building’s courtyard, on the corner of Buckingham Gate Road. A harpist played live music whilst guests from the fashion world drank ‘Blewcoat’ cocktails designed especially for the opening.

The historical building, thought to have been designed by Christopher Wren has been sympathetically renovated to create a stunning interior, reminiscent of the finest couture houses in Paris. The store’s unique concept is to provide beautiful red carpet gowns, occasion wear and bridal gowns to three generations of women.

The unique concept of the salon is to offer a beautiful collection of extra-special designs for women of all ages, for three generations.

The theatrical setting offers an alternative experience for customers.

This five star experience will include private consultations with in-store consultants, on-site tailoring to create the perfect fit, bespoke designs, salon style shows, special workshop evenings and personal consultations with Ian Stuart upon request; a luxury shopping experience from start to finish.

The new collection is exclusive to the Ian Stuart Blewcoat store London and images of the gowns will be available soon.
