V&A WEDDING DRESSES: 1775 – 2014
The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) presents Wedding Dresses: 1775-2014
3 May 2014 – 15 March 2015.
This exhibition traces the development of the fashionable white wedding dress and its treatment by key fashion designers such as Charles Frederick Worth, Norman Hartnell, Charles James, John Galliano, Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood and Vera Wang offering a panorama of fashion over the last two centuries.
Ian Stuart is delighted to be part of the exhibition with his iconic gown ‘Flowerbomb’ created for his’Revolution Rocks’ Collection. The gown is a typically Ian Stuart- theatrical and show-stopping; this gown features a strapless sweetheart neckline encrusted with beads and crystals and expertly draped drop waist bodice, leading to an explosion of flowers in tulle and lace on the magnificent skirt. A scattering of petals and leaves trickle down the tulle chapel train.
